I was reading about how great beetroot is
for weight loss and decided to create a pre-workout smoothie with it! This
article has 12 different recipes to try, but I decided to make two recipes:
Beetroot Spinach Smoothie and Beetroot Greek Yogurt Smoothie.
The beetroot spinach smoothie (above)
consists of:
-1 handful of leaves spinach
-4 cups water or coconut water if you have
a nut milk allergy
-5 pieces peeled beetroots - 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup for
those who are vegan or have a sweet tooth. This helps to give the shake a
sweeter taste, as well as balance out the bitterness from the beetroots, being

This high-protein beetroot smoothie is a

Ingredients:
- 1 cup almond milk - 4 tablespoons chia seeds (you can grind
these up to make a powder, but I like the texture of whole chia seeds) - 2 cups
spinach - 2 large pieces of raw beetroot - 3 large carrots (grated. You can
also use the juice of a lemon) - 1 handful of spinach leaves
- 2 tablespoons of flaxseed powder

or just mix into smoothie (I don't like to chop them beforehand) - 1/2 tbsp honey
